According to Josh Gross at Sherdog, Riddick Bowe wants to compete in MMA and he has announced a “tentative” bout for December 12th of this year. I guess we can add him to the list of boxers who are giving the sport a try. Earlier this year Ray Mercer was quickly defeated by Kimbo Slice in his MMA debut, and prior to that Tommy Morrison claimed he would fight an MMA match, but it turned out to be a one-sided stand-up only match with the rules adjusted in Morrison’s favor at the last minute.
Riddick Bowe told Sherdog that “I’ve been running, doing things as I was doing them in boxing,  I guess now all I have to do is get down with the ground work.” He admitted to being a little anxious about grappling, as he’s never fought on the ground, but he is confident that he’ll be able to learn quickly.
