The #RallyForMarkHunt movement can’t hold a candle to the social media skills of Caine’s Arcade. Unlike the nine-year-old wonder who created an arcade out of cardboard and tripled his $50,000 goal of earning donations towards his collage education, fans’ efforts to score Mark Hunt (Pictured) a title shot against UFC heavyweight champ Junior dos Santos won’t be nearly as successful.
While Dana White is fully aware the Nevada State Athletic Commission could still grant Alistair Overeem his fight license to challenge dos Santos, despite the fact he registered more than twice the legal limit for testosterone in a random drug test, the UFC president isn’t holding his breath the May 26th scrap will come to fruition.
Regardless, don’t expect for Hunt to receive the promotion should Overeem be pulled from the show’s featured attraction.
“[Fans] can keep rallying. It ain’t going to happen,” White flatly stated during Saturday’s ‘UFC on FUEL TV 2? post-fight press conference.
If Hunt can get past Stefan Struve at UFC 146, White said he’ll then be assigned a Top 5 foe. A victory after that and maybe the organization will consider granting him a title shot.
Overeem is scheduled to stand before the NSAC on April 24th. The UFC will not announce who dos Santos’ opponent will be until after the results from the hearing.
UFC 146 takes place May 26th inside MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.

Don Frye debuted in the UFC in February 1996.
Sixteen years later, the two-time UFC tournament champion joined the Sherdog Radio Network’s “Savage Dog Show” to discuss his time in the sport, his views on today’s stars and more.
Frye on whether he watches MMA: “I can’t afford to [laughs]. If it’s on free TV, I can watch it. They’re great athletes. It’s amazing how the sport has transformed. I’ve said a hundred times, it’s like NASCAR. I’m one of the old-time moonshiners and now you’ve got the 500-horsepower cars. These days they’re so technically fantastic. They’re great athletes. I get a kick out of watching them fight.”
On putting on a show every time out: “A couple of times I didn’t pull it off. I screwed up, but I’m not like Brock Lesnar where there’s a trail of piss from the locker room to the cage. I come to fight. I’m not walking in there looking for a soft spot to land.”
On whether there’s anything that could motivate him to fight again: “Yeah, it’s called an empty wallet.”
On the changes he’d have to make to fight again: “I’d have to be serious. The last time out, I didn’t show the sport any respect or my opponent any respect, and he kicked my ass. I deserved it. Ruben Villareal, he stomped the s–t out of me and I deserved it because I thought I’d go in there just as Don Frye and my press clippings would impress him. Apparently he never learned to read on the reservation. He wasn’t impressed with my print.”
On whether he still trains: “No, I haven’t done anything since Ruben whooped my ass except ride horses. I had a real bad last eight years. I guess I screwed up my back in ’03 and didn’t know it, and it got worse. I just thought I was getting old. It gradually got worse. Last year from — what year is this? 2012? Yeah, May 2010 to May 2011, I had five back surgeries and they finally fused it. With my ego, I thought, ‘S–t, it’s been six and a half months. I can fight.’ But I didn’t train. I worked out, but I didn’t train. There’s quite a difference, quite a difference. We had the weigh-ins. Ruben took off his shirt and looked like Tarzan. I tell you what, if I had a car, I’d have jumped in it and left right then and there.”
On whether he misses fighting: “I do. I really do. I had a lot of fun. The fans are fantastic. Fantastic fans. But the thing is, Dana White’s just ruined the sport. I got to thinking about it today and you know, he ruined it for me. I thought, ‘Why am I letting that asshole dictate my life and take all of the fun out of it for me?’ I just ignore him and go on with my life. I might climb back in the cage just because I finally say, ‘F–k it. Why let him ruin it?’ I just ignore him and go on with my own business.”

UG member “Brett Rogers High Kick WTF II” posted a thread a couple weeks ago about wanting to see Shogun vs. Anderson Silva fight soon…I AGREE…would be a great matchup. Make it happen, I’d like to see it.
It seems as if the former Strikeforce heavyweight contender is a bit of scumbag, as he was arrested recently for what appears to be a brutal assault on his wife. Dana White has said Brett Rogers is fired immediately.
A neighbor reported that he had looked out his window and saw Rogers standing over his wife, repeatedly punching her in the head and face as she lay on the ground. Another neighbor stated that he saw her with blood “streaming from her face and mouth” with what looked to be a missing tooth.
Rogers’ nine-year-old daughter saw the incident unfold and yelled at her father to stop. Rogers’ 10-year-old daughter was also present and witnessed the attack, admitting that she had seen her father strike her mother in the past. She also reported that her father had struck the children within the last two years.

Sports ReporterDuring the long campaign to legalize mixed martial arts in Ontario, advocates stressed that what looked like a simple slugfest was actually a highly organized and (relatively) safe sport.
But UFC president Dana White knew one of the secrets to MMA’s runaway success is that even though it’s an increasingly respected sport, it’s still a fight.
“We’re human beings. Fighting’s in our DNA,” White told a Toronto news conference on Tuesday afternoon. “We get it, we like it.”
In fighting, people get hurt. A great fighter not only brings the pain, but knows how to take it.
On Monday, some of UFC’s biggest names — including welterweight champ and Montreal native Georges St-Pierre — joined White at Rogers Centre for a news conference to promote UFC 129, which will take place there on April 30.
After answering questions about the event, which the UFC says will attract its biggest crowd ever, a few of those fighters shared some octagon secrets about what hurts the most and what hurts less than you’d think.

Eight-month-old Tuptim Jadngooluem has been given a second chance at life after she successfully underwent surgery at Ramathibodi Hospital in Bangkok yesterday.
Tuptim, who was diagnosed at three months with a terminal liver condition known as biliary obstruction, has spent over a month in hospital awaiting a parental donor liver transplant to save her life.

NEW YORK — Randy Couture will indeed fight at least one more time in the octagon, as his rumored UFC 129 fight against Lyoto Machida is a go, according to UFC president Dana White, who told MMA Fighting the matchup is a “done deal.”

Say what you want about Dana White and how he runs the UFC, but the guy was quick to come to the rescue of a 4-yr old girl needing a liver transplant.
This all started as a forum post on the UG requesting help to pay for the surgery for the daughter of Kru Nai of Tiger Muay Thai, who was diagnosed as needing a liver transplant, without which she was given 4 weeks to live. It didn’t take long for Dana White to get word of the request, and he has evidently agreed to pay for the transplant. Simply awesome. My prayers and best wished for the little girl.
Outside a club in Austin, TX, and apparently some dude sucker-punched a women during a scuffle, and Roger Huerta saw it happen. He confronted dude, and ended up kicking his ass decently it seems.
TMZ broke the story earlier today. The video is not the the greatest quality, but here is a link to the video on TMZ. Oh, and Dana White says “Good for Roger” and agrees that the guywho hit the female, deserved to be KO’d.
He also says some other pretty awesome/hilarious things in this video, about Brock Lesnar, etc…
As for Paul Daley, he clearly deserves to be banned. Dana White has said that Daley will never again fight in the UFC under any circumstances, even if he somehow becomes the #1 fighter in the world someday (which will never happen), Dana said he will still never allow Daley back in the UFC. I honestly don’t care if I ever see him fight again or not. I’ve never even bothered to give him his own category here on my blog.
Paul Daley showed absolutely nothing in the way of being a contender, as far as tonights fight goes. He lost every round to Josh Koscheck and was just easily dominated throughout the entire fight. Part of me wants to think Daley was just mad at himself for being so unprepared in this fight, and after being outclassed in every category and realizing he doesn’t have the skills to be a top contender, he felt he had to save face by sneaking up on Koscheck after the fight and SUCKER PUNCHING him from behind. LOL @ Paul Daley for not even being able to hurt Koscheck with a sucker punch from behind, especially after all the trash talking he did about being able to knock Koscheck out.
AS FOR KIMBO, I don’t think he deserves to be cut quite yet. Yes, he was dominated by Matt Mitrione, but Kimbo still has drawing power, and fans. Kimbo also has seemed to handle himself with class thus far into his pro MMA career. Kimbo could still sell tickets and draw good ratings for a non-PPV event.
Mauricio “Shogun” Rua defeated Lyoto Machida by KO in round 1, ending the controversy surrounding their first matchup, in which Lyoto Machida was awarded a decision victory, despite many people who thought Shogun should’ve been the winner. This was Machida’s first loss.
Josh Koscheck TOTALLY dominated the trash-talking Paul Daley, and won an easy decision victory. I don’t think Paul Daley really showed any offense at all, until after the fight was over, when he snuck up behind Josh Koscheck and sucker-punched him with a left hook to the face. Unbelievable. There really isn’t any excuse Daley can give for his actions. I’m sure he’ll try to say he was full of adrenaline, or maybe even make up a lie about Koscheck saying something rude to him during the fight… but who cares. Daley seems like scum.
In other results from UFC 113:
I saw the news from Dana White’s twitter about TMZ.com covering a story, so I went to TMZ to see what’s up and find out Thiago Alves won’t fight at Saturday’s UFC 111 due to a CAT Scan showing an irregularity in his brain. Jon Fitch will now fight Ben Saunders at the event.

Shane Carwin hasn’t showed up.
Dana says the winner of Mir/Carwin will fight Brock Lesnar this summer.
Lots of press kissing Dana’s ass, one begging for free tickets.
UFC considering an event in Orlando (THIS NEEDS TO HAPPEN).
I think some chick just asked Frank Mir to choke her out.
Someone asked Dana about Jake Shields and Fedor Emelianko… Dana says he likes Jake and its obvious that Strikeforce is trying to get him beat by having him fight at 185lbs when he’s the 170lb champ. As for Fedor, Dana says it’s all about negotiations not working out.
Seth Petruzelli gets a shout-out from someone in the audience who asks about bringing him back to fight Kimbo. — I like this.
Lots of people asking for autographs…props to Dana White and the fighters for being patient and signing stuff.
Kevin Iole of Yahoo Sports reports that the UFC Heavyweight Champion Brock Lesnar was forced to withdraw Monday from his highly anticipated Nov. 21 title defense in Las Vegas against Shane Carwin due to illness.
Shane Carwin has supposedly said the fight will be re-scheduled for January 2 of next year.
Evidently Brock Lesnar has been sick for more than 3 weeks. Dana White is quoted as saying “He said he’s never been this sick in his life. He said it’s been going on for a long time and he just hasn’t been able to shake it.â€
