Charles “Krazy Horse” Bennett is NOT dead, you idiots.

Yes, it was a guy named Charles Bennett that was shot and killed by police in Ohio recently (link to video), but it was NOT the MMA fighter known as Krazy Horse. A lot of people think the guy looks like Krazy Horse because the dude had a beard and slight fro, but it is absolutely not Krazy Horse Bennett from Ocala, Florida…and they really don’t even look alike.

Mauricio Shogun Rua – Great Highlight Video

August 26th, 2007

Joe Rogan mentioned Matt Lindland a few times tonight.

Could we see Matt Lindland back in the UFC some time soon? I hope so, I think Lindland would defeat current UFC middleweight champ Anderson Silva right now.

RANDY COUTURE DEFEATS GABRIEL GONZAGA TO RETAIN UFC HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP

via TKO 2nd round (referee stoppage) at UFC 74. Discuss the fight on our MMA Forum

UFC 74 Couture vs. Gonzaga

Randy Couture wants to “beat the dog crap” out of Gabriel Gonzaga. True dat.

I’ll update this thread when I get a chance in between fights or something. Also, Alberto Crane hasn’t fought since January of 2005? Damn.

Cote just KO’d Kendall Grove with a right hook and subsequent GNP.

Damn, someone did some serious bleeding in one of the prelim fights, look at all the blood on the mat.

sign up on our MMA forums and discuss the fights!

WAR Pelligrino next, versus Joe Stephenson. LOL at Joe Rogan saying Sherk is on another level. +1 for Nandrolone.  Joe Stephenson won by decision.

Wow, Alberto Crane vs. Roger Huerta was a fantastic fight! Crane showed some sick jiujitsu, but ultimately was beaten down by Roger Huerta.

Josh Koschek has his own custom entrance song, “JOSH KOSCHEK PUTS ANOTHA ON HIS BACK” lol, GSP by kata. Georges is wearing bike shorts instead of trunks. Haven’t seen that in awhile in the UFC that I can recall.

Georges St. Pierre outwrestled Koschek to a unanimous decision.

and finally, Randy Couture destroyed Gabriel Gonzaga via TKO bloody face/broken nose via takedown head clash. RANDY COUTURE RETAINS HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP.

Now we get to see a preliminary fight, Thales Leites vs. Ryan Jensen. Did I just heard Goldberg say something about Steve Jennum? Anyway, Jensen was winning until Thales caught him in an armbar. THALES LEITES by submission (armbar).

Hey I just saw Michael Irvin backstage with Randy Couture. I think Rogan should fight Michael Irvin.

For the other undercard fights, Frank Mir subbed Antoni Hardonk (kimura) in the first round, Clay Guida won a decision victory over Marcus Aurelio, Renato Babalu Sobral put an anaconda choke on David Heath.

Where did all the blood in the cage come from? Guida/Aurelio?

Thoughts on the UFC 74 Weigh-Ins.

OK I just watched the weigh-ins for UFC 74 at the Mandalay Bay Events Center.

The fighters started weighing in at approximately 6:30 p.m. ET

Weigh-in results are listed below.

Marcus Aurelio (155 lbs) vs. Clay Guida (155 lbs) this should be an outstanding fight.
Ryan Jensen (185 lbs) vs. Thales Leites (188 lbs) (Leites has 2 hours to lose 2 pounds)
Antoni Hardonk (244 lbs) vs. Frank Mir (255 lbs) Frank doesn’t look as fat as he has before.
David Heath (205 lbs) vs. Renato “Babalu” Sobral (204 lbs)
Alberto Crane (155 lbs) vs. Roger Huerta (155 lbs) would be nice to see Huerta sub’d.
Patrick Cote (184.5 lbs) vs. Kendall Grove (184 lbs “and a fresh new haircut”)
Joe Stevenson (155 lbs) vs. Kurt Pellegrino (155 lbs)
Georges St. Pierre (170 lbs) vs. Josh Koscheck (170 lbs) Why all the booing for Kos? I hope he wins now. Fuck the haters. Koscheck by blanket.
Champion Randy Couture (228.5 lbs) vs. Gabriel Gonzaga (252 lbs)

Meh, it was a fairly uneventful weigh-in, no pushing or shoving, and Thales Leites finally made weight and is cleared to fight tomorrow night.

UFC 74 Countdown Show On SPIKE TV

Did Randy Couture just say that Forrest Griffin is at 240lbs right now? Run, Forrest, Run! Damn, Forrest. Also, Georges St. Pierre says his fight with Koscheck will be a “Tree round” battle.

Tim Sylvia vs. Brandon Vera at UFC 77

Well, here’s our answer to what’s next for Tim Sylvia. In my opinion, this is a great match. I’d like to see Sylvia KO Brandon Vera, whether or not it will happen, who knows. Vera has done a great job of building up his value and hype as a fighter, can he back it up?

Tim Sylvia has been recovering from a staph infection that spread through the Miletich camp in Iowa, and he also had back surgery after the Randy Couture fight, which kept him out of action for awhile. Brandon Vera was originally supposed to fight Sylvia for the title, but  had problems with his former manager, and was replaced when Randy Couture stepped out of retirement to defeat Tim Sylvia.

Brandon Vera has an impressive record so far in the UFC, defeating names like Fabiano Scherner, Assuerio Silva, Frank Mir, and Justin Eilers.

I have a feeling Vera’s undefeated record may disappear soon.

It’s Official! Wanderlei Silva signs with The UFC

“I’ve been waiting for this for years” – Dana White

The UFC website quotes Wanderlei Silva as saying:  ”Many fighters have a dream of fighting for the UFC, and as a champion for six years in Japan my dream has always been to have the UFC belt,” Silva was quoted as saying on the UFC Web site. “Today, I’m one step closer to this goal.”

There is photo and video of Wanderlei and Dana White together signing the contract for Silva to fight for the UFC.

Thank God they signed him before he gets too old. I hope we get to see Wanderlei fight like we’re used to seeing him fight. I’m still not sure if he can be a significant force at 205lbs in the UFC, but at least we’ll get to see a few exciting matches. Could he KO Quinton Jackson again? They’ve fought twice already, and Wanderlei won each time.

Will we finally get to see him fight Chuck Liddell? (BTW: Liddel will win this by KO, unless of course he catches a right hook to the jawpiece). Regardless, it should be a slugfest for a round or two.

It was just last month when Dana White sounded like he didn’t think a Silva/Liddell fight would ever happen. They wanted to schedule a fight for September 22nd, but Silva was replaced with Keith Jardine for some stupid reason. I still don’t understand the logic behind that fight.

Anyway, Silva is in the UFC now. Dana White said “He’s ours.” I don’t know when we’ll get to see his first fight in his return to the UFC, where he has a 1-2 record from when he previously fought in the UFC. I suspect he’ll fight in the octagon sometime before the end of 2007. Hell, they should let him fight Jardine for a tune-up fight. Jardine might KO him.

UFC fighter JOSH HAYNES Appearing on “CELEBRITY BULL-RIDING CHALLENGE”

So is Vanilla Ice. And that dude “Nitro” from the old American Gladiators shows. As you can guess, the show is about celebrities and bull riding. Josh Haynes by armbar.

Chuck Liddell vs. Keith Jardine – worst idea ever.

Who the hell made this match? Joe Silva? Worst idea ever. Are they trying to kill Chuck Liddells career? Are they trying to kill Keith Jardine? I don’t understand this fight at all, it’s a NO-WIN situation for Chuck Liddell, he’s either going to KO Jardine as most people suspect, or Jardine is going to win the fight and Chuck’s career will never be the same again.

Can you imagine if Liddell gets KO’d by Jardine, considering Jardine just got launched into orbit with vicious uppercuts from Houston Alexander.

Keith Jardine

This is just a bad matchup all the way around, in no way should Chuck Liddell have to fight a non-top 10 fighter.

Human Weapon: Karate

Awesome. I really love this show. It’s like a mixture of two of my favorite things: History and people getting their asses kicked. Tonights show is about Karate! This is particularly awesome because like other people, Karate (Shotokan) was the martial art I grew up learning.

Anyway, hopefully tonight we’ll see host Bill Duff get his ass kicked by a black belt. He’s going to fight in a Kumite match. KUMITE! KUMITE! KUMITE!

Sure, Karate may not be the complete martial art right by itself, but there is no doubt about the deadly striking power of some Karate fighters, and every martial art has something that can be taken and applied to MMA and even street fights.

Actually, I think I’d like to become a samurai swordsmen. Legit like.

I’m not very good at reviewing stuff I guess, so I’ll just say that they cover a lot of the history of Karate, which makes complete sense considering it’s on The History Channel. Also, I’m watching it like 2 days late, recorded on VHS. Right now I’m about to fast forward through some commercials because it appears that some guy is going to get beaten with a 2×4 when they come back. I thought about that the other day, I think I’m going to start carrying a 2×4 with me everywhere I go, just to make people wonder WTF is wrong with me. Like whenever I get out of the car, I’ll get out and pull my big ass 2×4 out of the backseat and just walk inside Blockbuster or walk through the mall casually. You never know when you’ll need a 2×4.

Anyway, they didn’t beat him with a 2×4, but it was some kind of stick, looked more like 3×3″ or something, but of course it was long, part of why they were able to break it across homeboys stomach.

Also, there is not much cooler than watching an old dude punching his fists against a huge boulder. I seriously think I’m going to contact my old Shotokan sensei and start talking Karate again for a little while just for fun.

Back to the show, here comes the fight. It’s full contact, 1-3 minute round with a 1 minute overtime, no punches to the head. It’s actually a pretty cool fight so far, the big dude Bill Duff (host of the show) is gettin nailed with strikes, the black belt is kicking his ass, oops black belt went down and Bill Duff says “I sent his ass to the mat” but the black belt was immediately back up and landing vicious leg kicks and punches to the chest when Bill Duff lands an illegal punch to the jaw of the other guy. Gets a warning from the referee. The black belt comes back and nailes Duff in the left leg over and over, now we go to overtime. Fights over. They call it a draw but I say Bill Duff lost. Of course if punches to the head were allowed it would be a different fight. I’m going to bed now, I’ve been up all night.

So the IFL had some good fights tonight. Do I care?

Not really. I just waited and read about the fights. The IFL has the most screwed up process of airing their shows. Was tonights show on Pay-Per-View or anything? Anywhere?  Bah, who cares. They (the IFL) are obviously happy with their place as a little league team in comparison with the UFC.

Tapout’s Matt Major is a PUSSY.

Yeah I saw the Tapout show on the Vs. television network a few weeks ago, and this prick Matt Major was thinking he’s the next great middleweight or LHW whatever he his, he’s like 6’2″ and a muscular 185lbs I think, but a pussy.

The Tapout show followed him as he prepared to fight some overweight tomato can with a MMA record of 0-2. The tomato can took Matt Major the distance and Major won a judges decision. After Major failed to finish off the 0-2 tomato can fighter, he went backstage and was still hyped up and excited about his victory over the fat 0-2 guy. Backstage, a small fighter that looked to be about 5’2″ tall, maybe 130lbs, tried to give Matt Major some constructive criticism, and Matt Major challenged the little dude to a fight, and even threatened to find him outside and kick his ass.

My first thought was, wow, Matt Major is a pussy. A major pussy. Dude barely finished the fight with a fat 0-2 opponent, and now he’s threatening a lightweight to kick his ass in the parking lot? Matt Major is a pussy.

Anyway, Matt Major has since come on some MMA message boards and is trying to clean up his image by making excuses saying that the show was edited, etc… well, I saw the show, there was no editing when you were bowing up on the little kid. You just showed your pussy side. I do understand though, your excuse is having the brain of a 12 year old.

Oh and in case you’re wondering, Matt Major fought again recently on 7/24/2007. This time he TKO’d a 1-4 opponent.

I’ll be impressed when he wins a fight against a decent opponent.
