Damn, ive been being lazy.. but anyway, about Jason “Mayhem” Miller versus Frank Trigg on Friday December 1st..

Mayhem by RNC 1st round..

honestly, i kinda feel bad for Frank Trigg, and would like to see him do well in this fight.. not necessarily win the fight, just not get choked out like he’s known for. I just don’t see it happening. I think Mayhem’s grappling skills are going to be too good for Trigg..

UFC 65: Bad Intentions — Matt Hughes vs Georges St. Pierre, Tim Sylvia vs Jeff Monson.

Check out the MMA WAREHOUSE for Xyience and all your equipment and Mixed Martial Arts gear.

ok, it’s late and im going to bed so im gonna make this a quick post..

overall it was a good show..

Frank Mir vs Brandon Vera - Frank Mir should quit fighting, frankly, i dont think he was ever all that good, but he ended his last two losses by curling up in the fetal position, for a supposed jiujitsu guy, he’s gotta do better than that when he hits the ground. He was getting owned standing up though, and to his credit, Brandon Vera is one of the best young fighters in the game right now, with super strikes and good muay thai, he totally dominated Frank Mir and won a 1st round TKO.

Nick Diaz won his fight against Gleison Tibau, 2nd rd TKO but it the fight wasnt aired.

Tim Sylvia versus Jeff Monson started out good, everybody knew that big Tim had to keep the fight on his feet, considering Jeff Monson is a world class heavyweight submission wrestler. I predicted Sylvia would win with sprawls and jabs, that’s pretty much what happened in the first couple of rounds, the rest of the fight was a total bore, with the referee even stepping in to warn the fighters about inactivity. In the end, it was a long 5 round judges decision for Tim Sylvia to win.

AND… Matt Hughes is no longer welterweight champion. Georges St. Pierre gave Matt Hughes a total ass whooping. Hughes was actually KO’d at the very last second of the first round, and it looked like referee John McArthy was stepping in to stop the fight when the bell rang.

More of the same in round 2, with St. Pierre owning the fight, not allowing Matt Hughes to take him down. St. Pierre was landing punches and kicks at will, using lower leg kicks to set up a high kick to the head which turned out to be the end for Matt Hughes,he went down and got pummeled by St. Pierre until John McCarthy stopped the fight.

thats it im going to bed now..

Pride: Bushido 13, Welterweight GP, and The Ultimate Fighter Finale..

Ok, I havent written anything lately, what can I say? I’ve been a lazy bum. I did watch Pride: Bushido 13 this week though, some good fights, a lot of judges decisions though. Denis Kang lost the Welterweight GP to Kazuo Misaki. Misaki had already lost earlier to Paulo Filho in the semi-finals, but Filho couldn’t compete in the next fight and Misaki was chosen to take his place in the finals. Misaki didn’t even know he was going to fight again until just a few minutes prior to the final match.

Tomorrow night is a big night, SpikeTV will be showing the finale of the UFC’s “Ultimate Fighter” competition show. This season featured Middleweights and Welterweights, and it has all led up to tomorrow night and the final two fighters standing from each weight class square off to determine a winner.

The middleweights are Travis Lutter and Patrick Cote, and I’m going with Lutter to win this one. I imagine he will take Cote down and be able to keep him there, and either submit him, or pound him out. Ideally, I would like an exciting stand-up fight, but I don’t see that happening here. Travis Lutter is a world class jiujitsu guy, and unless Cote can avoid his takedowns, he will be in trouble.

The welterweights are Chris Lytle and Matt Serra.. I’d like to see Chris Lytle win this fight, he is a very well rounded fighter, very good on his feet, and pretty damn good on the ground as well I think — but no match for Matt Serra’s jiujitsu skills, so Lytle should do his best to keep the fight standing and use his reach advantage. At 5’6″ tall, Matt Serra is giving up a lot of height and reach to Chris Lytle.

There is also a handful of undercard fights featuring some other guys from the TV show, but it’s late and I don’t feel like reviewing each one right now.. just do yourself a favor and tune into SpikeTV anytime Saturday.. they’re showing a marathon of the show until 9pm(EST) and then the LIVE finale.
