Chuck Liddell was in a 1981 movie called The Postman Rings Twice.

Evidently he played an uncredited boy scout. I’ve added the movie to my Netflix queue simply out of curiosity, I don’t believe it’s the kind of movie that would interest me at all otherwise.

Here is the IMDB link.. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0082934/

I’m watching PRIDE 32: The Real Deal LIVE from Las Vegas..

Eric “Butterbean” Esch just knocked out Sean O’haire.. 1st round KO. O’Haire is a total can though.

Three more fights scheduled tonight, I’m expecting to see Josh Barnett win his fight against Pawel Nastula.. Pawel just walked to the ring, Barnett is coming in now to “YOU WA SHOCK!” some video game theme music or something. WAR Barnett! even though his entrance kinda sucks.

Anyway, I’m not going to post any spoilers here yet, I’ll just wrap up this post by saying I’d like to see Barnett win, and I dont really care who wins the Mauricio “Shogun” Rua -vs- Kevin Randleman fight.. I guess I’ll go with Shogun to win.

And for the main event, Fedor Emilianenko versus Mark Coleman, well, Fedor is thought to be the best overall pro fighter in the world right now, and Coleman is of course a huge underdog, but I’m really hoping Mark Coleman is able to win. USA! USA! USA!

INJURY UPDATE

For all of you who are concerned about Rich’s injuries, here is what we know so far. His nose was reset in the locker room right after the fight. A few days later, after meeting with the Doctor, it was decided that he would need surgery on his nose. He had his blood work done on 10/18, his surgery is scheduled for 10/19 and then he will have a post-op visit on 10/23 to make sure everything is okay. Rich and his team appreciate all the support from his fans, and we will continue to update you as we get new information

Attn: Dana White – bring back Evan Tanner, Jason “Mayhem” Miller, Matt Lindland, Dan Henderson, etc..

Thats all for now.

New UFC Middleweight and Lightweight champions crowned.

Yep, Anderson “The Spider” Silva proved to be too much for Rich Franklin, stopping him in the first round with several muay thai knees to the body and head. Franklin couldn’t escape Silva’s thai clinch for some reason. I don’t know why Franklin tried to keep the fight standing, I believe he could have dropped down out of Silva’s clinch and went for a single or double leg takedown, but no, Rich decided to try to throw punches over the top of Silva’s arms.

Rich Franklins nose ended up being moved to the side of his head, near his right ear.

What’s next for Anderson Silva? The rumors are that Mike Swick wants to fight him.. I’m not so sure Swick is ready, considering the ease with which Silva disposed of Rich Franklin. Will we see Matt Lindland return to the UFC to face the Spider? I’d prefer to see Evan Tanner or Jason “Mayhem” Miller return to the UFC and fight Anderson Silva, but I know that won’t happen next, not before Swick or someone else gets a shot.

Also last night, Sean Sherk won a 5 round decision to claim the UFC Lightweight title, by beating Kenny “KenFlo” Florian. I really wish Kenny had shown better takedown defense in this fight, because I fucking can’t stand Sean Sherk. Yes, it was one of the bloodiest fights I’ve seen, but also one of the most boring. Sure, it had some moments of excitement, but it was mostly just Sherk laying on top of Florian.

Please lets see a Sherk/Florian rematch soon, or at least someone to kick Sherk’s ass.

UFC 64: Unstoppable – Rich Franklin versus Anderson Silva.

Yup, happening tonight. Will Rich Franklin be able to successfully defend his middleweight title? Anderson Silva is a beast in the octagon, especially when it comes to striking. This should be a really entertaining fight, I’m wondering if Rich Franklin will try to take it to the ground or see if he can hang with Silva’s strikes.

The only other fight I’m really looking forward to is Kenny “KenFlo” Florian versus Sean Sherk. I really hope Kenny wins this one, I like seeing buff dudes get beat up.

Ken Shamrock/Tito Ortiz 3 — poor Shammy..

didn’t quite go the way he wanted.. he defended himself from the elbows slightly better than the last fight, until Tito Ortiz realize he could sneak an uppercut underneath Ken Shamrock’s arms. Tito landed the first uppercut and that dazed Shamrock, enabling Tito to land several more shots to Ken Shamrock’s dome.

John McArthy stepped in to stop the fight, Tito Ortiz is the winner by KO.

The other fights on the show tonight were all decent, Matt Hamill beat up Seth Petruzelli pretty bad for most of 3 rounds, until the fight was stopped by the doctor late in the 3rd round.

Tito Ortiz vs. Ken Shamrock III Tuesday night on SpikeTV

Their last fight ended too early says Ken Shamrock, and quite a few UFC fans. Will the result be any different this time around? I’m hoping so.. I really don’t think it will happen, but I’d like to see Shamrock get himself a win.

Also fighting on the same show will be Matt Hamill versus Seth Petruzelli, both are good fighters, from different seasons of The Ultimate Fighter reality show on SpikeTV. Matt Hamill is the deaf fighter that Tito Ortiz took under his wing and predicted to be a champion one day. Seth Petruzelli is a big dude, with some decent strikes in the few fights of his I’ve seen.

So tonight I watched Nikolay Valuev vs. Monte Barrett on HBO..

I admit I don’t watch very much boxing these days. Ever since 1993, I’ve gradually become desensitized to boxing, thanks to MMA. However, I had to tune in to HBO on Saturday night to watch this big ass Russian NIKOLAY VALUEV fight.

The dude is 7′ foot tall, like 330lbs.. homebody dwarfs all of his heavyweight opponents. I think he’s the tallest heavyweight champion ever. I’ve been reading about Valuev for awhile, but never had the chance to see any of his boxing matches. Honestly, I’m not that impressed with his boxing skills, but I guess when you’re that big and strong, you can rely on those slow clubbing punches to do quite a bit of damage.

Anyway, to wrap this post up so I can go to bed, Monte Barretts corner stepped in to stop the fight in the 9th or 10th round (I don’t really remember which). Monte was putting up a helluva fight and looked like he had the heart to keep fighting as long as he could stand up, but was taking a helluva beating and he was dog tired. Good for his corner man for stepping in and stopping it.

Now, the fight before that was a WAR between two light heavyweights, Tomasz Adamek successfully defending his championship title and unbeaten record by winning a decision victory(split?) over Australian brawler Paul Briggs. These two badasses stood in front of each other the whole time and never slowed the pace, no clinching or holding, just brawling. Great boxing match.

Paul Buentello KO’s David “Tank” Abbott at Strikeforce.

I’m sure nobody really expected this fight to make it past the first round, considering both of these dudes are heavy sluggers. Buentello weighed in yesterday at like 261lbs I think, and I heard that Tank actually looked to be a bit leaner and possibly in decent shape (still with the beer belly though)..

Anyway, this fight wasn’t broadcast anywhere that I know of. I would’ve liked seeing the fight, I don’t know if they plan to put it on PPV eventually or not.. I reckon it’ll end up on DVD or somewhere soon enough.. I don’t really give a shit now though, that’s the problem with these events that aren’t shown LIVE. Don’t get me wrong, I can watch a good fight several times, hell, I’ve even rented some of the new UFC dvd’s they’ve put out with the first events from 1993 on them, but by the time this Strikeforce event makes it anywhere on video, I’ll be already forgotten about it.  Maybe that’s a good thing though.
