Brett Rogers Accused Of Beating His Wife & Children, and It Sounds Brutal

It seems as if the former Strikeforce heavyweight contender is a bit of scumbag, as he was arrested recently for what appears to be a brutal assault on his wife. Dana White has said Brett Rogers is fired immediately.

A neighbor reported that he had looked out his window and saw Rogers standing over his wife, repeatedly punching her in the head and face as she lay on the ground. Another neighbor stated that he saw her with blood “streaming from her face and mouth” with what looked to be a missing tooth.

Rogers’ nine-year-old daughter saw the incident unfold and yelled at her father to stop. Rogers’ 10-year-old daughter was also present and witnessed the attack, admitting that she had seen her father strike her mother in the past. She also reported that her father had struck the children within the last two years.

52 Things I Love About MMA: Kazushi Sakuraba And Royce Gracie Make History – SBNation.com

GREAT article about two of my favorites.

By Jonathan Snowden

Royce Gracie was a legend of the sport, seemingly unbeatable. In 2000, after five years on the sideline, he returned to mixed martial arts to battle the world’s best. Could Kazushi Sakuraba, a pro wrestling jokester and undercard standout, possibly compete with the mythic Gracie? The answer to that question changed MMA history forever.

Matt Mitrione Not Satisfied With Win, but Would Love Shot at Tito Ortiz

Matt Mitrione may be a little conflicted about the type of opponent he’d like to fight next. But he’s not at all conflicted about wanting one particular dream grudge match, even if it’s not a highly realistic probability.

Mitrione, who improved to 5-0 in his 18-month MMA career with a knockout of Christian Morecraft on Sunday at UFC on Versus 4, told host Ariel Helwani on Tuesday’s edition of “The MMA Hour” that he would love a chance to fight Tito Ortiz, with whom he has a newly born beef.

Strikeforce HW Grand Prix: BARNETT vs ROGERS / WERDUM vs OVEREEM

Like I said in my previous post, it’s been awhile since I did any blogging…but tonight I’m watching the Strikeforce HW Grand Prix by myself — well, I just got home, so I’m starting a bit late, and I’ve missed all but the Barnett/Rogers and Werdum/Overeem fights.

Josh Barnett just pretty much dominated Brett Rogers the entire time, before tapping him out in the 2nd round by arm-triangle choke.

Wow, the Alistair Overeem vs. Fabricio Werdum fight was strange. The judges haven’t announced the winner yet, but I am guessing, WERDUM takes the fight. I think he actually got the better of the striking, and obviously Overeem didn’t want any on the ground. I think overall, Werdum was more offensive.

Holy cow, a unanimous decision for Overeem. Was I ever wrong.

Well, well, well…Long time no post, again.

But tonight I’m watching the Strikeforce fights alone, and have time to blog while I watch.
