This Strikeforce Event Is Going To Be Great…

I am anxiously awaiting the event to start. This card is full of potentially great fights. Here are my picks to win:

BOBBY LASHLEY VS WES SIMS – I would love to see Wes Sims win this, but he won’t. Bobby Lashley will take him down and get the win.

HERSCHEL WALKER VS GREG NAGY – Herschel FTW.

ROBBIE LAWLER VS MELVIN MANHOEF – This fight will end in an awesome way. I would *like* to see Robbie Lawler win this, and I believe he can KO Manhoef, but we’ll see. Someone is getting KO’d.

CRISTIANE CYBORG SANTOS VS MARLOES COENEN – Hmmm.. can anyone really beat Cyborg? I would like to see Marloes win, but I don’t really see it happening.

NICK DIAZ VS MARIUS ZAROMSKIS – I want Diaz to win this. I don’t know much about Zaromskis, except that he has awesome striking (kicks in particular) and does some cool backflips during his fights. He could KO Diaz, but I’ve never seen Diaz KO’d, and I don’t think it will happen tonight.

Herschel Walker Making His MMA Debut Tonight @ StrikeForce MIAMI

I am stoked. Sure, Herschel isn’t as young as most MMA fighters, especially one making his debut on a big stage such as Strikeforce, but I hope to see Herschel get a win. Many people are writing him off, saying he is too old or too inexperienced. I disagree. Herschel is a world-class athlete, and at 47 years old, heĀ is still in better physical condition than most men half his age.

Herschel doesn’t need the money, and he doesn’t need the fame. He is fighting as a way to test himself. His opponent will be Greg Nagy (1-1 MMA), who will be looking to make a name for himself by defeating the former NFL and College football star.

Roxanne Modafferi defeats Molly Helsel at KOTC Japan

I like female fighters…and Roxanne Modafferi is one of my favorites. Congrats to her on a 2nd round submission (Rear naked choke) win over a very talented Molly Helsel at King Of The Cage in Japan.

Jamie Varner’s Ridiculous Post-Fight Interview

Jamie Varner is hilarious, in an unintentional way. He was beat easily by Ben Henderson last night, and in his post-fight interview said “I came to fight. Ben was the better man. He caught me in the guillotine. S–t happens. I was winning the fight. I came to fight; Ben came to grapple.”

So, Jamie wanted to “fight”, but instead got choked and started tapping almost immediately. He didn’t even fight the choke, he just tapped out. Then after losing, he insults Ben Henderson for just wanting to “grapple” instead of fight, however, it was Varner who shot in for a takedown (grappling, much?) Oh but wait, he was winning until he got tapped out.

LMAO @ These Promo Videos for the World MMA Awards

The World MMA Awards show will be shown January 6th on Versus. You’ve probably already seen the awesomely drunken acceptance speech by Diego Sanchez. Well, here are more hilarious videos, such as Randy Couture: Divorce Attorney, and Junie Browning: Life Coach.
