I hope Nick Diaz kicks Gomi’s ass at Pride 33: The Second Coming

I think this may be a tough fight tonight for Nick Diaz, and I have nothing against Gomi, I just want to see Nick Diaz win. Diaz is more entertaining to me, his smart-ass attitude is a plus.

I also would like to see Dan Henderson win his fight against Wanderlei Silva. Hopefully this will be another war.

I finally finished watching BoDog Fight USA vs. Russia on the ION channel

Hell, on my cable system the PAX channel has changed to ION. I didn’t even notice the change, but while looking at my TV listings I saw BoDog Fight listed. Sweet, free MMA on TV is always cool. I knew the Bodog Fight event had already taken place, and I already knew the results but it was nice to watch the fights because I hadn’t seen them when they were LIVE on pay-per-view or however they were aired.

The fights that stood out to me were probably the same fights that impressed everyone else. I admit I didn’t know much about who Eddie Alvarez was, but homeboy has some ferocious hands. He destroyed Aaron Riley in that fight.

I was glad to see Eric Pele get the win over Antonio Silva and his big-ass head. Yeah, so the fight may have been stopped slightly early, I don’t care. War PELE. I hope he KO’s Alex Emelianenko too if that’s who he fights next.

The Trevor Prangley and Andrei Semenov fight was good too, even though it went to a judges decision, Prangley took some helluva shots to the dome and managed to win the fight.

Tito Ortiz to guest star on CBS Televisions “NUMBERS” on Friday night in a show about an MMA death

In the episode, a mixed martial arts fighter dies in the ring while sparring, but police suspect the fighters training partner may have drugged him and is responsible for his death.

EliteXC: Frank Shamrock – Renzo Gracie..

blah.. it was a pretty good event, im just so tired of Frank Shamrock.. and the dude hardly ever even fights. To be honest, I didn’t even expect this fight to happen, because it seems like all I ever hear about Frank Shamrock is that he “plans” to fight someone, and it seems like he never does. Sure, he fought Cesar Gracie last year, but that should hardly count.

So anyway, Renzo entered the arena to “Bring Me To Life” or whatever its called by Evanescence. Frank Shamrock came out to “Born In The USA” by Springsteen. The announcer called him “America’s Legend of MMA”.. yeah, right..

Renzo won the first round, scored 2 takedowns and dropped some elbows and punches of Franks grill, almost had an armbar until the ref stood them up..

Renzo got another takedown in the 2nd round, and was winning again until Frank Shamrock landed 2 illegal knees to the back of the head. Renzo Gracie won by Disqualification.

I can’t wait to see someone knock Frank Shamrock out.

Also, big ass caveman looking Antonio Silva KO’d Wesley “Cabbage” Correira.. Antonio Silva is another one I want to see get beat up soon. I know he lost to Eric Pele a few months ago, but it was kind of a controversial ending. I hope to see him get a legit ass kicking from someone.

BOOOO!! another Frank Shamrock letdown.. sure, Renzo seemed hurt, but he’s fought in Japan where they allow knees to the head, I guess he wouldve altered his gameplan had he been fighting by PrideFC rules.

Fighting on MTV’s Road Rules

I watched MTV’s Road Rules show, it’s the first season back in awhile I think, but one of the dudes on there named Abram, was on the show in a previous season but got kicked off for whupping some loud-mouth fat dudes ass.

Anyway, homeboy is on there tonight and spazzes out for no apparent reason, and arguing with some other dude on the show, when the other dude gets up and tries to walk past, Abram swings at dude and tries to take his head off, bulls homeboy into some tables and keeps throwing rights upside dudes head when the gay guy comes and tries to pull them apart. They all end up on the ground before the guy that Abram attacked regained control and had a possible RNC, but Abram reversed it and they both stood back up on their feet, at which point Abram decided it was over and he was going home.

That sucked, I was hoping for them to start fighting again when they got back on their feet, but Abram quit. He’s a dumbass anyway, I’m not sure why he even felt the need to fight with homeboy, hell, I’d rather stay on the show and try to win some cash.

Ok, so maybe my last post was a little bit harsh towards Travis Lutter

Anyway, I’ll admit, at least Travis Lutter made it an exciting fight, but the Rich Franklin fight was also exciting, so for whatever that’s worth… but yeah, props to Lutter for doing what Chris Leben and Rich Franklin couldn’t do before him, he made Anderson Silva look human in front of UFC fans (Silva has had his ass kicked before, just not in a UFC octagon).

Other thoughts on UFC 67, CroCop performed as expected. He almost landed his trademark high kick, in fact it did stun Eddie Sanchez a bit. The fight eventually went to the ground and I almost thought we were going to see Mirko CroCop win by submission, he almost had an armbar set up.

Blah to the John Halverson and Roger Huerta fight. Who cares. I hope Roger Huerta gets destroyed soon.

Rampage and Marvin Eastman had one of the best staredowns in history, Rampage won by KO.

I was disappointed to see Jorge Rivera lose, I really like the guy, and I don’t really like Terry Martin very much, except in that fight where he got KO’d by a knee, I liked him then. Terry Martin ended up calling out Mike Swick for a future fight. Swick by KO.

LOL @ Travis Lutter

What a dumbass. I mean that in the nicest way. I was really pulling for him to win, I enjoyed watching him get the takedowns on Anderson Silva, up until about the time he got mount and didn’t do shit with it. And the the near armbar he got, and couldn’t do anything with it.

Give Travis Lutter credit though, he did exactly what he said he was going to do, he took him down and made it a grappling match, and got his ass whipped at his OWN game. HAHAHA!

Anderson Silva by triangle choke. Now that I think about it, I’m happy Silva won. Silva said Travis Lutter disrespected the UFC championship title by not making weight, and he is exactly right. Travis Lutter did not deserve to even be in this fight. This opportunity should have went to someone that actually wanted to be champion.

-1 for Travis Lutter.

Travis Lutter wastes his chance of a lifetime before the fight even happens

The fight will still happen, but he failed to make weight. By one half pound.

So…it won’t be a championship fight.

I think it’s ridiculous that he wasn’t able to cut a half pound, I mean, he’s known about this fight for several months, right? Travis Lutter had a chance to fight for the UFC CHAMPIONSHIP, a chance to be an instant star, million dollar endorsements, but a half pound ruined that chance.

First, Travis came out to the weigh-in and stepped on the scales at 187 lbs, and the cut-off is 186lbs. They gave him 2 hours to lose the extra pound, but he comes back to the scale at 186.5 lbs. I hate to keep rubbing it in, but damn, you only get 1 life, and some chances only come around once in a lifetime. How will this affect his mindset tonight? He looked really bad at the weigh-in also, dehydrated and emaciated, although I’m sure he’ll have gained probably gained 20lbs back by fight time.

Anyway, I feel sorry for Travis Lutter, he blew his opportunity at a championship, but I still hope he can win and make some kind of impact for himself tonight.

I’m hoping Travis Lutter takes the middleweight championship from Anderson Silva at UFC 67

I think he has a good chance at doing it if he can get the fight to the ground where he wants it. Anderson Silva seems like an OK guy, but I hope Lutter takes him out.

All in all, UFC 67 seems like it should be a good event… so as usual, here are my picks.

Halverson -vs- Huerta.. meh.. I don’t really care, I think I’d like Halverson to knock the arrogant look off of Huerta, but that look might just come naturally. Halverson by decision.

Mirko “CroCop” Filopovic -vs- Eddie Sanchez – Yeah, I might be stupid.. i put money on Sanchez.

Quinton “Rampage” Jackson -vs- Marvin Eastman – I just hope this is a good fight. Marvin beat Rampage back in 2000, but of course that was Rampage’s first fight. I’m thinking Rampage will win this fight Saturday night, but you never know… Look what happened to Heath Herring.

Patrick Cote -vs- Scott Smith – Wow, this could be a good stand up war, both dudes like to throw punches, and Scott Smiths last fight had one of the most amazing endings I’ve ever seen. This is another tough fight to call, it could go either way. I’ll go with Scott Smith by KO.

Terry Martin -vs- Jorge Rivera – Jorge Rivera will win. By something.

Sam “Sausage Tits” Hoger -vs- Lyoto Machida – Lyoto Machida by whatever he wants. WAR KARATE!

and hopefully Dustin Hazelett will TKO or KO Diego Saraieva.

I just realized the UFC finally bought UFC.com?

Maybe it happened a long time ago and I just haven’t paid attention, but I thought I remembered that ufc.com belonged to some guy who had it before the UFC became to mega-success that it is, and I seem to remember him having a page about how he “defeated” the UFC?

Or was I just dreaming?

I know the last time I noticed, UFC was using a ufc.tv web address (and still does). Anyway, it’s no big deal, I just noticed it and wondered why the guy who had the .com domain beforehand decided to give it up.
