Ok, I didn’t write about this as it was happening, but now I’ll give a quick synopsis. The fight card was:
Date : Sunday, July 30 2006, Open 14:00 Start 15:00
Place : Makomanai Ice Arena, Sapporo JAPAN
Yusuke Fujimoto vs Bobby Ologun (Special Fight)
Yuki Nimura vs Noboru Uchida
Mighty Mo vs Remy Bonjasky (Revenge Match)
Hong-Man Choi vs Akebono (Revenge Match)
Glaube Feitosa vs Musashi (Revenge Match)
Peter Aerts vs Gary Goodridge (Revenge Match)
Poul Slowinski vs Tatsufumi Tomihira (Super Fight)
Bjorn Bregy vs Tsuyoshi Nakasako (Super Fight)
Freddy Kemayo vs Hiromi Amada (Super Fight)
I was looking forward to the Peter Aerts/Gary Goodridge fight It was a good fight on Gary Goodridge’s part, but he just couldn’t compete with Peter Aerts. After 3 rounds, the winner was Peter Aerts by judges decision.
Bobby Olugun vs Yusuke Fujimoto was an entertaining fight, although a complete mess. I don’t know what Bobby Oluguns problem was. The only thing I saw from him was a decent flying knee. Anyway, yeah, Yusuke Fujimoto by 3 round judges decision.
Hong-Man Choi vs Akebono – Choi by 2nd round knockout.
Poul Slowinski vs Tatsufumi Tomihira – good fight.. Slowinski by 3 round judges decision.
Bjorn Bregy vs Tsuyoshi Nakasako – I missed the very beginning of this fight, I came in and saw what looked like Bjorn Bregy fighting some dude with a Evan Tanner hairdo. Yeah, Bregy by 1st round KO.
Freddy Kemayo vs Hiromi Amada – Amada by 3 round judges decision.
Noboru Uchida vs Rikijyo – Nobodu Uchida by 2nd round KO.
Mitsugu Noda vs Tsutomo Takahagi – Nodu by 2nd round KO.
All in all, I wasn’t very impressed with the event.
